Curated and produced by Artworld Projects, Afterimage (2025) was a solo exhibition by Scotland-based Polish artist Sylwia Kowalczyk, coinciding with two major cultural initiatives: the UK/Poland Season 2025, led by the British Council, and the Edinburgh International Festival programme The Truth We Seek. The exhibition foregrounded Polish contemporary art within Scotland’s festival context, creating a platform for dialogue, exchange and visibility for Polish creatives. It also marked an early step towards the larger 2027 project Photo Dalkeith: Focus on Poland, exploring connections between Polish and Scottish photographic histories.
