Orders, accounts and enquiries
We use the contact details, delivery and billing addresses, order details and correspondence you provide to take payment, fulfil orders, manage returns and answer enquiries. The lawful basis for processing needed to fulfil your order is performance of our contract with you, including steps you request before ordering. We also keep records where required by accounting and other legal obligations.
Our legitimate interests include handling general business enquiries, protecting the shop against misuse and dealing with disputes. We consider the effect on your rights when using information for these purposes.
Service providers and payments
The shop uses WordPress/WooCommerce and GoDaddy hosting. Payments are processed through Stripe; payment information is handled by the payment service, and we receive the information needed to manage the transaction. Delivery providers receive the details needed to deliver your order. Professional advisers or authorities may receive information where needed for accounting, legal obligations or claims.
Mailing list
If you subscribe, we use your email address to send Artworld Projects news and marketing, including Artworld Books and Artworld Radio, on the basis of your consent. Our signup form uses Direct Mail/JoinList. You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew.
How long we keep information
Retention depends on why we hold the information: fulfilling orders and returns, applicable accounting requirements and the periods in which legal claims may arise. Enquiries are retained for handling and relevant follow-up. Mailing-list details are retained while you remain subscribed; limited suppression information may be retained to respect an unsubscribe request. Contact us for information about the retention period applicable to your records.
Cookies and third-party content
The shop uses cookies and similar technology for functions such as the basket, sessions and payment security. Embedded content and external services may process technical information under their own privacy notices. Browser settings allow you to control cookies, although blocking essential cookies can prevent parts of the shop from working.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, or object to its use. These rights are subject to legal conditions; for example, erasure may not apply to records we must retain by law. Contact us using the details above to make a request.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator.
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our activities or requirements. Last updated: 24 September 2026.
