Curated and produced by Artworld Projects, Afterimage (2025) was a solo exhibition of the Scotland based Polish artist Sylwia Kowalczyk. coinciding with two major cultural initiatives: the UK/Poland Season 2025, led by the British Council, and the Edinburgh International Festival’s programme, The Truth We Seek. This timely exhibition offers a rare opportunity to foreground Polish contemporary art within Scotland’s rich festival context, while creating a platform for dialogue, exchange, and visibility for Polish creatives. It also serves as an early step toward the larger 2027 project Photo Dalkeith: Focus on Poland which will explore the connections between Polish and Scottish photographic histories.
